The FSOA aims to improve safety at football grounds, promulgate best practice, enhance the role of stewards and develop safety officers’ expertise. The FSOA website provides members with a forum over and above the national and regional conferences, for exchanging ideas and information regarding safety and management of football grounds.
Association Profile
One of the most significant developments since the Hillsborough Disaster in 1989 has been the formation of the Football Safety Officers Association (FSOA). In the flurry of activity following the Reports of Lord Justice Taylor concerns were raised both by the football authorities and by practitioners themselves that the standards of safety performance varied so greatly from ground to ground.

Regional Officers
The FSOA was inaugurated on the 29th October 1992. Football clubs from all leagues in England and Wales are represented by safety officers, their deputies and stadium managers. The FSOA is divided into six regions
