The Football Safety Officers Association (FSOA) of England and Wales was formed in 1992 by a small group of Football Safety Officers for Football Safety Officers.
The FSOA has a number of corporate and affiliate members and partners who specialise in training and assessment programmes leading to a qualification at NVQ Level 4 in Spectator Safety Management. It is not the role of the FSOA to recommend or endorse any particular organisation or programme of work – each particular candidate must assess the options that these (or other) providers offer in relation to their own needs, resources and requirements.
Please visit the Corporate Partners area for contact details of Preferred Partners providing these services.
The FSOA is committed in assisting members and their teams to achieve the highest standards of learning and development. The FSOA has helped develop every football steward’s training package and helped to provide the first official safety officer training qualification.
We are pleased to offer products and services from companies willing to provide discounts and special deals to members of the FSOA. Please visit these pages regularly because it is hoped that the number of companies offering discounts will continue to grow.
Corporate members benefit from 2 conferences a year and unlimited circulation of their product information and flyers to members.

The Association has in place a Stewarding Support Initiative for lower league clubs who find themselves faced with challenges beyond their normal fixtures.
With two conferences a year inclusive of the Spring A.G.M Conference there are plenty of opportunities for members to share information and raise issues of concern with a top table consisting of long serving and experienced safety professionals in the Safety at Football Stadiums world.
Exhibitors can benefit from the pre conference networking evening and meet all those present during the conference exhibition itself.
Our recent conference took place over 11th and 12th October 2016 and was held at The Stratford Manor Hotel, Warwick Road, Stratford upon Avon.
This event consisted of a pre event Network Opportunity on the 11th, followed by conference and exhibition on the 12th.The optional evening dinner on the 12th included AN AUDIENCE WITH SIR GEOFF HURST.
Contact the office for details of future conference information.
Since 2011 we have become regular conference and exhibition attendees and have also attended regional meetings. We have found members to be open, engaging and friendly and the committee themselves more than helpful and responsive.

I am also pleased to report that the very first UK Panomera solution is being installed at Everton FC ready for the start of the new season. This was in effect the result of a meeting at the very first national conference we attended in 2011 with Linsay Veitch and the now retired Ray Foy of Everton.
