Racism Rears Its Ugly Head Again!

The downside of social media came to the fore over the festive period when a Fulham player was apparently abused with racist overtones. During a “bottom of the table” six-pointer, Fulham were awarded a penalty and Aboubakar Kamara decided he would take the kick instead of the designated penalty-taker, Alexander Mitrovic.

His poor attempt was easily saved by Huddersfield Town netminder Jonas Lossl, creating scenes of controversy among Fulham players which also left manager Claudio Ranieri claiming, in jest that he “wanted to kill” the French forward. This was with the score at 0-0 butFulham went on to win 1-0 with a stoppage-time goal guessed it, Mitrovic!

The upshot was that Kamara’s social media accounts were bombarded with emojis of monkeys and bananas.
