Venue Safety Officer Required – Birmingham 2022Peter Houghton
I have been asked by the organisers of Birmingham 2022 ( Commonwealth Games) if anyone would like to join them as Venue Safety Officer.
I remember working as part of the Event Safety Management team at Manchester 2002 and it was a truly wonderful experience. Hard work, but an event I will never forget.
Workforce Co-ordinator, Charlotte Phillips told me:
Birmingham 2022 is looking for an experienced Venue Safety Officer to join the Central Venue Management and Event Services (VEN) department. The Venue Safety Officer will develop, document and deliver the required cross-organisational venue safety related principles, planning processes and venue organisational structures. The Venue Safety Officer will also be key in assisting, developing and delivering the licensing strategy and the securing of valid certificates or licenses to enable venue and sporting activities to be activated safely.

We welcome applications from candidates who would be interested in part-time work, however, there will be a requirement to work fulltime from March 2022.
As you can see there’s a tight turnaround on this one but….
there will be other venue vacancies to be announced so watch this space.
